While I usually enjoy color, the complexity of these sharp edges was so beautiful in simple black and white. It almost as if you are seeing light refracting through cut diamond faces.
It’s simplicity shows off the recursive and infinitely exponential mathematical science and beautiful magik that is fractals. I have positioned the main diamond in the bottom right corner, but you see that same shape in different sizes and angles repeated over its surface and budding out into other diamonds.
You can get lost, looking deeper and deeper into the fractal, yet at the same time, everything looks comfortingly familiar. It reminds me Hermes Trismegistus’ Emerald Tablet “As above, so below”. Though, the original translation is closer to “That which is above is from that which is below, and that which is below is from that which is above.” It’s pretty interesting how we seem to reduce and condense wisdom into easy to remember soundbites yet loose some of the meaning and its the potency along the way. (Don’t even get me started on “the road less traveled“!)
