Another collection created due to a Spoonflower contest, Poinsettias & Plaid, started out as Christmas gift tags. While originally intended to be purchased as gift wrap, you could also cut and use them as fabric tags.
In addition to the cute gift tags, I created coordinating design of diamond plaid, poinsettias, words and strings in crimson red, aged gold and eggnog. In the Poinsettias & Plaid fabric collection, I love the graphic feel of the plaid and stripes. However, I am most proud of the poinsettias which I drew and created the repeating pattern by hand — cutting, spinning, taping, and drawing in the negative space. In the past I’ve done the process digitally in Photoshop, so it was nice to experience the “old school” method.
