Why be another name in the crowd when you can lead the crowd?
It’s not about getting left behind. It’s about knowing yourself, your purpose and being determined to BE. It’s about being distraction-free. It’s letting your soul and goals guide you, not fads and hype or popularity. You may have to make unpopular choices that take you closer to your vision.
“Be flexible in your approach. Stubborn in your destination and joyful in your journey.”
It’s hard nowadays, both as a person and with a brand, to be you and lead the crowd. It’s easier to mimic what someone else is doing. It saves you the time and hassle of figuring out who you are, what you stand for and what you want to be known for.
However, these are the most important factors that inspire a prospect to connect with you—and a customer to purchase again. This is especially true for services businesses, where you are selling You more than you are selling product. And it’s also important for network marketing businesses, in fact, said another way, network marketing is really relationship marketing. A friend could buy shakes, make-up, cleaning supplies and essential oils from nearly anywhere& dash;they buy from you because of You. Because of who you are, what you stand for and what are known for.
Think of yourself as a consumer, don’t you love those brands or personalities that do stand out, that are unique leaders in their fields? And how do you feel about knock off brands?
In my career working in corporate headquarters of network marketing and retail companies, I would propose new ways of doing things and most of the time they would be met with responses like, “No one else is doing that, I don’t think we should try it. Let’s do what [more popular competitor] is doing. It’s working for them.”
Being different can feel scary. Leading can feel scary. Fitting in and following is much easier.
